Carol PetersonBrisbane, Queensland
I am a specialist in people engagement and organisational culture shift. My commitment is to better futures through informed, confident individuals and communities. I have been an active practitioner in Participatory Leadership/Art of Hosting since 2009. I have had additional training and experience in neuro-semantics, Theory U, project management, coaching and mentoring. I apply this learning in my work across the community sector, building organisational capability and stakeholder engagement. I am most inspired and joyful when I work alongside people with an intellectual disability, their families and advocates to improve the human rights of people with a disability I have used these approaches across Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania Northern Territory and Western Australia. Last year, I was privileged to be part of the hosting of significant conversations between the Scottish Parliament and community prior to the recent independence referendum. |

I’m a participatory process designer, host and harvester, and an active member of the Art of Hosting community of practitioners in Australia. I believe in the power of giving people a voice on the things that matter most to them, and of a more human way of learning, living and working together. My life and past work in journalism, communications, planning, projects and change in government, community and the arts and cultural sectors – has led me to here. Now I’ve discovered this way of working, I have found my place! I’m a Flow Game host, and a happy apprentice of graphic harvesting – creatively making sense of what we learn together from conversations, meetings and workshops for wise action. I love to experiment with digital tools to keep people engaged and connected. Mostly, I like to work with and connect others to make good things happen. I’m a Purpose Partner. At the moment, I want to paint the world teal! |
Frank MartinSunshine Coast, Queensland
I am Director of the Children's Therapy Centre and also a Purpose Partner. I have driven stabilisation and now the transformation and growth of the Centre as it prepares for the NDIS. I have had a varied career: senior government roles, leadership program development and delivery, service provision, a partner in a Registered Training Organisation and consulting. I am particularly skilled in hosting participatory process in a business context. I relish being part of developing the Art of Hosting community here in Australia. I am enjoying, with my partners, work that uses my deep experience in organisational and community change. In my work I want to engage people well to find their own solutions, so that they and their organisations can be integral parts of thriving communities. |
Jane GeltchBrisbane, Queensland
I am a participatory process host, and steward of the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter. I am developing my skill in partnership brokering and complexity practice, and am a student of the new paradigms emerging as the world shifts to a more connected, compassionate future. Weaving these threads together is giving my practice increasing richness, depth and adaptability. I have long worked in health and community services, recently in leadership roles. I have experience in policy and organisational development, adapting to change, and in service provision, particularly mental health and disability. I see my work with Purpose Partners as collaborative entrepreneurship - working with others to bring new ideas to life. My lived experience of marginalisation has gifted me with a growing sense that empathy, compassion and forgiveness are the keys to a meaningful life. I love hosting and nourishing others on their path as they host and nourish me. |

Damon SeniorBrisbane, Queensland
With more than 20 years experience within the disability sector both in Australia and the UK, I am a passionate advocate for ensuring that people with a disability are an included and active part of the community who are enabled to contribute and reach their full potential. I believe in delivering services with a strong client-centred focus and also believe in the importance of creating sustainable family and community relationships. During my current role as service coordinator of a disability day service which focuses on learning and life skills development, I have built a strong reputation for this. I studied psychology and sociology at a tertiary level and love spending time with my beautiful family. When I have spare time I enjoy playing music with friends. |
Helen GeltchBrisbane and Canberra
My work over the past 25 years has been in the non-government and government sectors. I have worked as a counsellor, family support practitioner, program coordinator, and in policy development. I have ongoing interests in the area of grief and loss, and the lives of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At my core is the heartfelt desire for a world in which all people are included and valued. I strongly believe that if we ‘deeply’ listen to each other, and honour all viewpoints and contributions, we can begin to achieve this. I am an emerging Art of Hosting practitioner and am thrilled to be playing a part in the training on fabulous Coochiemudlo Island. I look forward to learning alongside you! |
Renae MooreDarwin, Northern Territory
My background is speech pathology, with remote, rural and urban experience in health, education and community services across Australia. My first job was as sole speech pathologist in remote north-west Queensland - a life defining experience meeting amazing people in extraordinary places. I have lived in the NT for 20 years, and worked across aboriginal health, early childhood, ageing and disability and workforce strategy. I love living in Darwin, a cosmopolitan city with access to grand expansive landscapes and cultures. I’m now the Principal Allied Health Advisor for NT Health, building the capacity of allied health workforce and services to meet the diverse needs of communities. I am a keen student of participatory leadership, seeing transformation in individuals and systems when we have conversations that matter. I am really looking forward to this training and to meeting you. |

Brisbane, Queensland
I am a passionate and committed creative social work practitioner who has worked across the community sector for nearly fifteen years. I have strong links to community development practice and believe strongly in the power of people and communities to drive their own change.
I believe in creating opportunities for all voices to be heard at a systems level, particularly for those who are impacted the most by policy and program development. I have a long ago background in visual arts which I am currently trying to reignite, and am exploring opportunities to use creative processes to engage and connect with people.
I am an apprentice to the Art of Hosting and participatory leadership processes, which I love and love exploring the potential with others.
