Coochiemudlo Island
Coochiemudlo Island is a beautiful island on Moreton Bay, about an hour south of Brisbane, Queensland.
One of our hosting team members, Michelle, lives on 'Coochie' as it's known by locals, and several visits and conversations inspired us to hold our training there.
Coochiemudlo is an English adaptation from the Yuggera words kutchi (meaning red) and mudlo (meaning stone)
The island is well known for its bird life including sea eagles, brahmani kites, magpies, rosellas, butcher birds, pheasants and a large colony of stone curlews. Dugongs, turtles and dolphins can be spotted in the waters around the Island.
During the training, we will be using spaces around the island – indoors and out – to make the most of the experience and place. We will be hosted by several different places on the island, for training activities, meals, accommodation and fun.
Coochie is flat, with mostly sealed roads, and is 5kms around. The places we will be working at during the training are all within walking distance of each other, and the accommodation.
The island is accessible, with a new ferry terminal. Accessible accommodation is at Coochie Island Resort, and our training space is also accessible. We are committed to making Coochie an accessible event, so depending on individual needs, we will adjust our program to suit.
